Delhi Tourism seeks financial advisors to help run projects

With a number of projects in various stages of construction, Delhi Tourism has now started exploring for financial modules to run these projects in the most "profitable" manner. Senior tourism department officials say they will soon appoint "transaction advisors" for each of its projects to suggest which financial module would be best suited for that project, according to a report Atul Mathur in Hindustan Times.

Officials said the union tourism ministry has already compiled a list of qualified financial experts, and that the Delhi government would pick some of them from the list to look at their projects. "While some projects may work better on a public private partnership basis, the tourism department may run some on its own," said a senior tourism department official.

"We have been working on projects for some time now. Most of them are now complete and can be started as soon as we have a competent company ready to run them on our behalf. The suggestions the transaction advisors give us, will help us shortlist the companies with proven record," a tourism department official said.
